Christmas River Walk

Last night Jeff and I went with our good friends Matt and Miriam to see the new LED Christmas lights at the River Walk. It was so crowded but we really enjoyed it. There were carolers on some of the boats going around and there were vendors selling cool light up gadgets and the trees were lit up so beautifully!

Some of the buildings in the city are lit up like this one. I love Christmas time! Especially when I can walk around and enjoy the festivities with out freezing my toes off!

Its December!

On the third Jeff and I went to my work party where we went to a great dinner at Luce's and then back to the salon for the real party. There were drinks, music, A Christmas Story on every tv, and an awesome photo booth. Here is a clip of our pictures and then we put one of the extras in to an ornament.

Then of course on the 6th we celebrated Jeff's Birthday. We went to try a new indian food resteraunt which was delicious. And here is his cake with a sad looking 7. But its more about the taste right? Well it tasted very yummy.
Happy Birthday to my Jeffrey!

Much Needed Rain

Last night for about 45 minutes we had a downpour of rain and a lightening storm like I have never experienced. Here is a short video of what we witnessed. The lightening was practically a strobe light and it lasted the whole time it rained. Our street was filling up with water and this morning driving around our neighborhood there is thick mud on the streets in some areas. It was a cool experience and it made me even more excited to be in San Antonio. Hopefully my grass will grow!

Redoing the Floors

Well we did it! We put in the new flooring in the pantry and in the master bath. And how long did it take? Two days. Including tearing out the old, the 5 thousand trips to Lowes, and laying the new with grout. And I have to say I am so proud of myself!
Here is the old in the pantry. You can see our main reason for doing this flooring is the lifting in the doorway to the garage.
The after in the pantry. You should see it with the washer and dryer in it which will be the next post.
The before in the bathroom. Again see the lifting at the doorway.

And the After! Happily after might I add. The closet to the left still needs carpet in it and we are waiting on Lowes to hear about when that will be done.

There you have it! Both of the floors done before school started. I will post about the rest of the house throughout the week while Jeff studies.

Disneyland!

Almost two weeks ago Jeff and I went with family to Disneyland. It was a Tuesday, the week before all schools had gotten our for the summer and Everyone was there! Seriously, the place was packed with teenagers and middle school kids who were all celebrating their graduation. You literally had to hold on to the people you were with to get through the park. But it was SUCH a fun day!

This is on the Jungle Cruise, which was probably one of the shortest lines but a very relaxing and funny ride with lots of hippos, piranhas, elephants, and tigers.

The lines that we waited in ranged from 30 mins to 2 and 1/2 hours. We saw an awesome parade and a really cool firework show, ate their delicious churros, had ice cream, and took our picture in front of the castle of course!

We had such a fun day and I loved spending time with my cousins. Todd, Jeff and I waited in line for the new Star Tours from 9:45 pm to about 12:30 am and though some of us have different stories, I'd say it was well worth it.

The Walls are Changing!

So its been a while since the wall next to the stairs has been decorated so I decided, (and mom gave me permission) that this would be my project for the day. Here is how it turned out.

I Love Lucy

For as long as I can remember I have been in love with the show

I know every episode and know most of the punch lines in them and still love to watch them when I get the chance. The things I love about the show are these;
It is simple and easy to follow
It has a light and uncomplicated humor
I love the clothes, the style, and the beauty
And its a show about a family, friends, and love with no drama, no hate, and no bitterness.

Of course the most appealing thing about it is the humor and there are really some hilarious episodes, like this one where she gives my favorite line"Do you pop out at parties? Are you unpoopular?

And this one where she does the act "Slowly I Turn" in which if anyone says the name Martha she sprays them in the face, and hits them with a bag until she "snaps out of her trance" (which sounds violent but it really isn't that bad).

And this one where she is training to be a ballerina and is told to lift her leg level with the bar and ends up flinging her leg up and getting it stuck and then hanging upside-down when she really tries to get it off.

But my all time favorite episode is where Lucy tries and tries to tell Ricky that she is pregnant in a cute way at home, but nothing ever works out, and she gets so sad and frustrated. She decides to go to his night club and requests a song "I'm having a baby, My Baby and Me" anonymously, and while Ricky is singing and asking couples if its them who requested it he finally makes it to Lucy and she calmly nods yes. While he goes on unbelieving then realizes and stops singing and it is the happiest moment where he is So So excited to be a dad and they are so in love! And that makes Me Love Lucy even more. The fact that on TV such a special moment can be shared and displayed in they way it should-in a loving marriage.

Our First Home!

Well we just got back from our house hunting trip in San Antonio, TX. We found a home that is in close proximity to Jeff's medical school and my work and we might just even be able to work out driving together to and from. Here are pictures of our future home.
