I Love Lucy

For as long as I can remember I have been in love with the show

I know every episode and know most of the punch lines in them and still love to watch them when I get the chance. The things I love about the show are these;
It is simple and easy to follow
It has a light and uncomplicated humor
I love the clothes, the style, and the beauty
And its a show about a family, friends, and love with no drama, no hate, and no bitterness.

Of course the most appealing thing about it is the humor and there are really some hilarious episodes, like this one where she gives my favorite line"Do you pop out at parties? Are you unpoopular?

And this one where she does the act "Slowly I Turn" in which if anyone says the name Martha she sprays them in the face, and hits them with a bag until she "snaps out of her trance" (which sounds violent but it really isn't that bad).

And this one where she is training to be a ballerina and is told to lift her leg level with the bar and ends up flinging her leg up and getting it stuck and then hanging upside-down when she really tries to get it off.

But my all time favorite episode is where Lucy tries and tries to tell Ricky that she is pregnant in a cute way at home, but nothing ever works out, and she gets so sad and frustrated. She decides to go to his night club and requests a song "I'm having a baby, My Baby and Me" anonymously, and while Ricky is singing and asking couples if its them who requested it he finally makes it to Lucy and she calmly nods yes. While he goes on unbelieving then realizes and stops singing and it is the happiest moment where he is So So excited to be a dad and they are so in love! And that makes Me Love Lucy even more. The fact that on TV such a special moment can be shared and displayed in they way it should-in a loving marriage.

  1. Kathy, I've watched this video 3 times and cried every time. You seriously love that show. I remember on days we would have off school or stay home sick we would watch Price is Right and then Lucy for about 3 or 4 hours. I don't know that I've ever met anyone who likes that show as much as you do. I wish all TV could be as wholesome as that show :)
